catleylane ghost of badgercourt

Post by BIKRS »

I have just got a 7 month old liver and white springer dog in who is line bred to catleylane ghost of badger court (grandparent on sires side and great grandparent on dams side) I spoke to someone who said if peter had not of become ill he would have made him up. Does anyone know about this dog and what he throws ?

Do you happen to remember what the rest of this dogs pedigree was?
I had a son of ghost and he was an absolute machine. I suspect Ghost didn't produce much on the trialling scene was because he had so much drive. But in hard cover with no scent what a dog.

I think i memory serves me right, this dog was in the back of a dog box on the way back from a trial and ate his towl that was put in with him so he could dry off, and died. - EDITED to say the line above is incorrect, I was thinking of Will Clulee's Catleylane Predator who this happened to on the way home from the championship.

The dog mentioned in the original post was a FTW and he was of small stamp. He wasnt made up because he had a fault.

If the OP wants more info on him drop me a PM.

I'm simpatico with this situation and maybe what the fault was...thinking the fault also covers the "?" above. To paraphrase the old saw about about "A mind is a terrible thing to lose," desire can be a terrible thing for a dog to misuse. And sometimes not even the best trainers are able to work a dog beyond that misuse (for gundog purposes) of its desire.
