Wullie, are these the ones with synthetic filling or feather? I'd imagine I'd come out to dogs knee deep in feathers if I used that type with my lot.

And that was just a pillow, imagine what fun an entire duvet would have been!

The duvets are the synthetic filled ones, they have now been in use in the kennels for 6 months !

Considering they had already been used for about a year by us prior to going into the kennels they have done very well at no cost at all. The two duvets we bought to change over with in the kennels only cost about £15 for the two of them . I think that is a very cheap way of keeping dogs warm and comfy through the winter months......but only if the dog's name isn't Jack the Ripper !

Just had to thank you, Wullie, for the duvet suggestion. It's a problem finding suitable bedding for my 13 year old GSP who scratches through anything that hasn't any 'give' in it & has ended up on newspaper, which is a messy solution. I happened to be in Lidl after reading your above post & saw a duvet at £8 so had to buy it & give it a try. So far, it's been a great success. She seems to settle much quicker without all the digging around that she used to do & I've just shoved it in the wash & was amazed that there was no damage to the outer cover. Think I'll be getting a second one to alternate the two. :-D

Lidl? You have Lidl near you? Better still puttee duvet inside an old cover, it will last longer.

The duvets in my kennels are still going strong after a whole winter and spring of constant use. My wife intends to replace them next winter just in case they do split open. At just £7 or £8 each duvets are very good value. When doubled or quadrupled up inside a drawer shaped sleeping box in a kennel they must be very comfortable and pretty warm too. My dogs and my wife like the duvets and that's what counts if you want to keep your kennel maid happy. ( My wife doubles up as my kennel maid.)

Does anyone know where in Northumberland you can get Tea Bag Bedding. Some agricultural suppliers have never heard of it.
