Treating minor wounds

A word of caution about using Hibiscrub as a wound wash. It was formulated as a surgical handwash hence is a detergent firstly and an antiseptic second and is formulated for use on unbroken skin. The detergent may impair wound healing. If you wish to use chlorhexidine (which is a superb antiseptic) I suggest using chlorhexidine aqueous solution not Hibiscrub.

Possibly nothing but it doesnt say whats in it so cannot comment. Chlorhexidine is one of the only antiseptic molecules that has been shown to promote wound healing in face of contamination in clinical trials published in peer reviewed journals.

I have been using a product called Exmarid as an after care potion for a leg woung my dog has had. A friend of mine has a lab with a small healed leg wound that just wouln't clear up due to the dog licking it and irritating it. He's been struggling and trying everything for about 4 or 5 months and he got put onto this stuff. He recons the difference it has made just in one week is amazing.

Aparently it has skin healing/soothing properties and helps sooth irritated skin, helps heal closed wounds etc. and the plus side is also that dogs hate the stuff and won't lick it off! Be warned though it absolutely stinks, its like charcoal, very strong charcoal!

I use the same thing as I use on myself. Rinse the wound with alcohol and close it with super glue. Problem solved in under a minute and it has never done me any harm.

I've been using Derbymed-SCP-Spray, it's for Horses but really dries out wet spots and does a great job on small cuts and sores.
