Oh BIll I am so sorry. With luck he will find his way back to you. It happened to my daughter's dog, she rehomed it, it got out of the garden within five hours, we searched everywhere, then at about 6.20am she heard a bark outside her patio doors and the dog had found her way back through the hedge even after that short time in a new home, far away from her original home. You must in pieces, thinking of you and praying for a good outcome.

PS put an article of your clothing at the place he ran off, dogs do tend to go back to that point.

Have you got any trusted mates who could help take up the search?

I can't tell you how gutted I feel reading that Bill :( and I know you will be too. Sometimes sh1t happens and I hope he's found soon...

You've pictures of him so get him on the dog lost website if you can, and Facebook maybe your son/daughter could help you with it? There is a poster making facility on there too so you can print them off and circulate in the area, local shops, pubs, supermarkets, rescue kennels, dog wardens, vets etc...Then contact local radio stations, newspaper too, ring round all your chums picking up mates and the like, you'll get loads of help I'm sure..... Hope to read a positive post soon and I'm thinking of you...

I hope you get him back safe and sound asap

Eta Milo went missing about twelve miles from the house across mountains. Three days later I had convinced myself he had fallen in a hole, broken a leg etc and was gone. We had searched for hours every day as had any of the village. He turned up at the back door knackered and starving at breakfast time barking his head off fours days after we lost him (he chased deer). He had made it home across the mountains by a route we had never taken.

So sorry. Just go back to the area tomorrow and do "marking pees" all around the area he went off and a trail back to where you park the car. Collect your supply in a bottle tonight and tomorrow am and then mark the trail. Be prepared to wait so you need food and a flask for a hot drink. And yes, Doglost, please. Thoughts are with you and Edge.

Best of luck Bill, I'm sure you will be reunited! Leaving a piece of your dirty clothing out is a good idea.
