Fox red.
When was the term "fox red" used to describe Labradors?
Inside every springer, no matter how well trained, is an idiot trying to get out

Not long ago, immensely irritating isn't it? Used to be "yellow" and maybe "a nice, dark, yellow".
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

I agree ,selling labs at higher prices because of their colour instead of their working ability is crazy.

Glad I am not the only one who finds this very irritating.

Re: Fox red.
Its red fox now which is even more irritating
.
Its been "fox red " shade of yellow on the Kennel Club labrador breed standard for longer than I can remember but fairly recently it has oddly changed to "red fox" in the breed standard. I suspect it was a typo when the Kennel Club made changes to their website and no one noticed it!

I am also extremely annoyed by Fox Red. I have a friend who is lovely in every other respect but is OBSESSED with the fact that her dog is 'fox red' and how it was 'the original colour' (?!) and somehow makes him superior. Does my head in.
cheers,
Alice.

Dead on the button, Wullie! People being people will seize every opportunity for making a quick buck, total disregard to the "working ability"
