Leggings/Overtrousers
Leggings/Overtrousers
Well my leggings have finally bitten the dust after two seasons. They now look more like rags!
I was just about to order some Musto Keeper BR2 Over Leggings for £89.99 from £125.00 when I checked the Sporting Saint website and found they do wax leggings for £15.49!!!
Have any of you guys bought Sporting Saint clothing? Anyone got the Musto Over Leggings?

Musto shred as only really any good for shooting not beating/working dogs in cover.
I've not tried sporting saint new stuff yet, it's french and looks good with the price being good too.
The wax over trousers are fine as are the leggings, we have those here

If it was easy it wouldn't be so much fun.

Cheers James. I'm told the French stuff is good, sold by Decathlon in the UK.

Wax is going to be bombproof, but memories of a Barbour fishing jackets many years ago puts me off. Do you not sweat something terrible?

Not in the leggings, but I would in a jacket. I have to layer carefully on my top half or I overheat badly. But no problems with the leggings

Re: Leggings/Overtrousers
I use the sporting Saint treggings, cheap, easier climbing over things than over trousers and keep my arse dry when sat in the beaters trailer, the and don't seem hot generally as ventilation is provided at the front as it were, I would not wear anything else for beating the brambles would rip anything decent to shreds. Mine generally last 3 seasons before they look too tatty to wear.

Re: Leggings/Overtrousers
I have worn Musto Keeper leggings for two years now doing everything in them when its wet, I wear Alan Paine Durham waterproofs usually which I also find hard wearing and waterproof though the trouser legs seem a bit short after washing. Not torn or shredded my Musto yet, only down sides is access to front trouser pockets underneath and the studs on leg side can come undone going through heavy stuff. I prefer leggings as they do not trail on ground like trousers often do as they slip down. I have also a pair of Highlander over trousers but I prefer my Musto as I wear wellies or boots most of the time and they are a good length.
It all depends on price which you want to pay and how really hard on the trousers you really are, I do a lot of ground cover that if not paid to go I would not.

Best value on the market Duckdri Treggings at £38 - they will even alter them to your fitting for no extra charge.

Re: Leggings/Overtrousers
Thanks for the link to the previous thread Canburne.
A couple of years ago I had a set of chaps made by Ann Rees (http://www.annrees.co.uk/people/chaps/w ... _chaps.htm).
I discovered the hard way with chaps that if you coat tail isn't long enough you can get a wet @rse in pouring rain. However for facing man-eating brambles they are indestructible. They can be almost too warm if beating all day in very mild weather. But great British made piece of kit which I can see me lasting (almost) a lifetime.
