New to this game

Post by Daffy »

Hi have been looking around the site for a few weeks and thought about time to introduce myself. Have a 15 month part trained GSP, Obi, that I have taken on from my sister and her partner. They do this training and working as a business and Obi didn't quite make the standard for them and having lost our lab cross earlier last year we decided to give him a home. His pedigree is outstanding and he is pretty good at the basics just need to put in the hours training and hopefully get him to a standard where we may be able to go on a shoot of some sort but thats a long way off yet. Have joined a club and been to a couple of sessions and next time will be going in the inters class. The dog knows a bit I have no knowledge or experience so on a quest for knowledge which is why I have signed up.

It certainly seems a friendly place and lots of useful info. I don't have much too offer but am willing to learn and try most things once.

Oftentimes, newcomer questions turn out to be beneficial to all because they can shake up some of our complacent thinking. :snooty: Welcome ! :-D

Hi, you seem to be in a similar position to me. I'm new to gundog training and have a 14-month GWP. I'll look out for your posts!

I had a read of your post and have made a couple of the similar mistakes. Fortunately for me it has only been a few weeks so hopefully a bit easier to remedy.
