A while back I purchased a thousand rounds of shotgun cartridges for clay shooting as they work out cheaper per shell when bought in bulk.
Unsurprisingly I am getting through them at a much slower rate than I had anticipated. I see folk on Facebook flogging odd boxes of cartridges.
Could some knowledgeable people here please give me some guidance on whether/how I might be able to resell the odd slab or two?
I would much sooner stay on the right side of the law, even if perhaps others not be so concerned.
Thanks in advance

Re: Surplus ammo
Interesting question. There are many occasions when clay shooters swap or sell on slabs for various reasons, until your question I have never given the legality any thought. I suspect that no law enforcement officer would have any problem as long as its between licence holders. Your best bet would be put the word out at local clay ground but depends on what load they are.
Muddling along in the hope that one day it starts to make sense.
Re: Surplus ammo
I don't see any issue as long as you sell to someone with a SGC.
You have to be a SGC holder to buy cartridges but not to own them so you could in theory give them to whoever you wanted - a typical example of this would be someone shooting at a clay ground who does not possess a gun or an SGC.

Re: Surplus ammo
I have often found this odd that the requirements over keeping cartridges at home are not as stringent as those covering the storage of my shotgun.WGD wrote:

Thanks for the reply. I think I will sit on them and make more of an effort to get out and use them. There is a nice little clay shoot once a month near us, but I either forget until after it has taken place or it clashes with other family events.

No substitute for practice get out and shoot those clays, it will improve your shooting. When I was heavily into clay shooting I would shoot more than 1000 a month
