I have a 2 year old golden lab called Kali. She is a failed police sniffer dog who was destined for Hong kong. She failed her training early on and I rehomed her. I have had her for 8 months.
When I first got her she would not do anything and hardly knew her own name. Started with a trainer, but didn't get very far with them. Recently started with a new trainer and we are finally getting somewhere. She will sit to command and to whistle, stay whilst I walk about 5 metres away (gets very fidgety though!), recall is good if it's after I throw a ball or dummy, but not good if she is on a scent etc. Main issue is pulling. Started using a slip lead and it is improving, although still pulls!. I'm not looking for a working gun dog or trials, just like the idea of gun dog training and the obedience from it. Any tips welcome
