At the moment to much speculation and not enough proof. What we need is you lot to come to the trails with your scanning machines, drug testing kits and give the club secutarys a hand

And what "you lot" (i.e. those of us who only work our dogs and have no interest in competition) want is honesty and not lies from the big money makers. We want dogs that look and behave like Cockers, dogs that work all day two or more days a week and we expect the dogs stated in the pedigree to be the actual dogs. So, whatever it takes to get the house in order, please.

If your not interested in trailing what you banging on about then. Why don't you get to a trail look at some cockers, see there style and hunting action.Trouble is it's easy to sit behind a key board talking shite sick of hearing it now come up with the proof or shut up.

But those people who aren't intrested in competition still like to have FTCh in the pedigrees so indirectly they are as intrested as people who do trial.

All dogs are capable of working as you wish, it's what you train for that makes the difference.

Obvious as to why anyone would want to. They have an average dog and a very good dog of the same colour, run the good dog in the average dogs name and make it into a winner,or even champion. Another stud dog making more money for the kennel.

Is there anything wrong in asking people to be honest? Whether it be running a different dog, using illicit blood or even inventing stories to try and blackball someone you don't like, its all plain wrong. It just leads to bad feeling all round as you can all see from the couple of posts above.
Don't just jump on people who are making suggestions we are all free to comment with our thoughts, no need to be unpleasantly defensive, is there?

Well said, Judy  Speaking as someone who is no longer interested in trials but expects integrity from breeders, competitors and judges of trials. I see nothing wrong in that.
