Credible Cockers!
Re: Credible Cockers!
I am being pedantic here but there is Rackatear (interesting name) in some Maesydderwen and Fernmoss stuff. There are Mallowdale "free" lines if you look. Maybe some people had the foresight to keep to their own stuff.

Re: Credible Cockers!
Exactly. Maesydderwen, Rowston, Timsgarry are extremely popular and successful bloodlines. You won't find Mallowdale in anything they have bred.JET1955 wrote:I think you are well off mark with this statement.alpha wrote:Yes I agree.... but look at 3rd 4th and 5th gen most of the popular or "common" stuff is usually Mallowdale or Chyknell or stuff that he has had somethingJET1955 wrote:quote

I think there might be a few people out there who certainly wouldn't agree with this statement.Thankfully there are still alternatives .
You might not like him but you cant deny he seems to have his finger in every pie cocker pie.... look at all the new stuff that doesn't have his affix its still a lot of Openshaw sired stuff
Maesydderwen,Poolgreen,Timsgarry,Fernmoss,Moelfamau, etc.Where is the Rytex influence in these. Its got nothing to do with not liking him.

Have a look at Wetlands Abe. At stud at Maesydderwen and in a lot of Maesydderwen pedigrees including a Maesydderwen FTCH stud. Has Mallowdale Rackatear in it.... it is also in some Rowston lines.Rothievale wrote:. Maesydderwen, Rowston, Timsgarry are extremely popular and successful bloodlines. The post i was disagreeing with suggests that most modern day cockers are all bred and VERY heavily influenced by the Rytex lines, that is just not the case.Plainsman wrote:I am being pedantic here but there is Rackatear (interesting name) in some Maesydderwen and Fernmoss stuff. I agree totally with you, was just trying to point out that Maesydderwen and Fernmoss lines are not Mallowdale free.JET1955 wrote:The post i was disagreeing with suggests that most modern day cockers are all bred and VERY heavily influenced by the Rytex lines, that is just not the case.Plainsman wrote:I am being pedantic here but there is Rackatear (interesting name) in some Maesydderwen and Fernmoss stuff. Re: Credible Cockers!
He's a top professional trainer and arguably our most successful contemporary trainer/breeder so his influence on the breed is bound to be quite dominant, especially given the current trend for hero worship, as I heard mention on another group. Doesn't this say more about our trial system where amateurs are trying to compete with professionals, some of whom can afford to concentrate on putting all their substantial facilities and efforts into producing FTChs.

Re: Credible Cockers!
Exactly! Almost all of them have at one point.James wrote:Amazing how those shouting from the roof tops are also some of those Ian has taken inder his wing at somepoint and had success because of it, add that to the fact that the likes of Ian put on more trials than most on his own grounds for little or no profit. Championship grounds found and championships helped with the running of for the good of all those competing, there's a lot more so called good guys that do a lot bloody less unless it benefits them but nothing gets said. So many want to fling mud around but can't be bothered to go out and help run training days or trials, it would be interesting to see what the out come would be if he decided to say sod everyone for a year or two.fusey wrote:Dave you are wasting your time.If any body had any concern over the breed all they had to do was go around it in the proper channels signed letters with signatures on it.From day one its bin a Whitch hunt on one mans business that's all.If any of use have a problem ring him or go and see him,but no it's easy to sit behind a keyboard talking shite sticking on FB easy way to discredit someone name easier.Sad state the trailing world is coming to my hobby dragged through the shite over jealousy.Right Judy do me a favour delete me from this forum please
People im sure will say what's this got to do with this current breeding isue, well most are saying it's for pure greed so it's just a balanced view of just some of the things Ian has done that doesn't fit with this.
It's a sad state of affairs the way some people are behaving, paints the whole sport in a very bad light, whether there is any substance to the claims or not, the whole manner it has gone on in is simply wrong, there are correct and proper ways to go about things and this isn't either.

i didn't say they were Mallowdale free, but one dog three or so generations back doesn't make them heavily influenced by those lines.
Re: Credible Cockers!
Very true but for the purist they are still there.....
