Your response left me better informed, no issues. Anyway, about these springadors you're going to breed...

No doubt you'd find them easier to train than them "hard" Pingery things.

I have split the topic as the 'alpha dogs ' discussion merits its own thread, feel free to carry on extending this topic as long as you want, it was about ESS stud dogs before it got diverted.

So what Studs have caught peoples eye this year?

I hadnt seen anything this season until I went to the champs. A few impressed me.

FTCh Biteabout Conquest of Wrenmarsh - Has grown alot since i saw him at last years champs, lovely to watch and temprement to die for.
FTCh Lisgarvagh Jet - Puts holes in brambles and doesn't try to find them, some dog and some confirmation on him too.
FTCh Boothys Bomber of Belvden - I thought was an animal in cover, not for the faint hearted.
FTCh Greenbrushed Iced - Gave a good account of himself, very eye catching being all white with a liver head.

Interesting to hear what you liked at the Champs, you were in a good position to make your mind up.

To many to name Will, Some class stuff there to be honest but they are the males that caught my eye.

Im told that Helmsway Hero had awsome runs, something else.....but....I had nipped to the toilet when he came in under us and missed him so cannot comment although ive seen him from a young pup and really like him but cant use him on any of my stuff because they are helmsway too.

Paul Thomas's bitch really stood out to me, black and white bitch. Lovely ground treatment, good marker, with the handler. Really nice and easy. Think she got a COM, but i know a few others who expected her to be there or thereabouts, but again the standard was that high that they were being knocked for the slightest of things.

I always get a bit worried about entering these discussions but have enjoyed this thread. What about Ballantine boy for mathershill? Never seen the dog myself and I am interested in other people's views.
