delaying season

I seem to recall reading somewhere that you can get medication from your vet in order to delay your bitches season if you know it will be during game season. Did I imagine this or is it true and if so has anyone done this and how common is it to do so ??

Wouldn't do it. Let the bitch have her season as it comes. No point in messing with it, there are risks.

I know a few men to use it.The heat cycle sends some bitches way back when coming up to a trail or when getting ready for one.so is used then but it is with its complications if used to often

Don't do it! Seriously,it's not worth it with problems that will come out even a couple of years after the event! For the sake of not being able to use your bitch for about 2 weeks in total. It f**ks up their normal season, the list can go on I'm afraid.

Delvosteron. One jab, then another 3 months later, another 4 months later and then every 5 months indefinitely if used to permanently postpone.

Increases the risk of Pyometra slightly, can cause false pregnancies a month after the initial jab, can cause hair loss or white hair growth where it's injected, causes stinging/pain when injected for a minute or two and can cause long delays in the return of seasons or they may never return

Wow heavy stuff then. I wont be putting my girl through any of that. I thought it was one tablet that delayed the season by a month or so then all back to normal ....job done.
Will just have to hope that her season starts 1st Feb instead of 1st Jan as expected
