What do you feed your dogs?

Problem is we live in a small rented cottage, fridge and freezer is tiny only just getting a weeks food for us in and no room for another so raw isn't a option until we move out in the future which is why we feed dry for now.

I feed Arden Grange Lamb and Rice with a little something added on top, more for me than the dog! Have fed this for years, he has good firm poos. I can buy 2 x 12kg bags for about £54 on a website.

I have always found most dogs pretty easy to feed. With 3-5 in the house it always seems there is one with a sensitive digestive system so I keep searching until I find the one which suits the high maintenance dog and then feed the same to the others. Not sure what is marketed over there but am currently feeding Purina Pro Plan Salmon and rice with good results.

I also add table scraps to the working dogs bowl in season to up calorie content but not during the off-season.

I don't overthink it. I pick a good performance feed and stick with it. I don't buy into the grain free garbage unless I had a dog with a sensitivity confirmed by a vet. Dogs have been doing fine on grains for many years. Currently I feed a brand here called Loyall. I get one step down from their performance formula - it's called active adult and it's 26% protein and 19% fat. My dog has an over abundance of energy to begin with and I find the 30/20 formula is a bit too hot for him unless I'm working him very hard for a few days in a row.

If it works for you then that's all that matters. But I must ask. If its fine unless you "work him a bit", does that mean you need to supplement his food if he needs to work? Surely then, it's not enough?

No I just rarely work him consecutive days therefore I don't condition him to handle it. Added protein and fat helps close the gap of that conditioning.
