Just joined following a Harrowing 24hrs. (SEE MY 2ND POST IN HEALTH SECTION)
Not new to shooting, been doing it since i could hold a gun , nor Gundogs and working/beating etc.. However im no expert either just really enjoy working and watching dogs do what they were bred and intended to do.
My partner and I curently have an Irish Red and White Setter bitch, Keeva at 6 yo, a Gordon Setter Dog, Sullivan at 15 months and a Springer Dog at 3 yo. The GS is showing well at the moment, BoB puppy Crufts 2020 and not working yet ....nor showing due to Covid. I have successfully worked Keeva and Sullys late uncle Monty in Lincolnshire on Pheasant Partridge and Duck and Keeva, despite being a HP breed also retrieves and ground scents and tracks very well. Keevas father was BoB 2014 but i wasnt into showing and again despite being from good show bloodlines, I believe if you start training and working a working breed from day one it will never know its parents are pretty and the working dog will prevail. Also when i was young living in the midlands we bred worked and trained and raced Whippets and Greyhounds, my late father being a miner and NGRC licence holder on Perry Barr.
