I would be tempted to have a dram with the pain killers. I did once without thinking when I had toothache (I don't take many pain killers and an abscess under a tooth is to date the only thing that has ever stopped me in my tracks) and the result was remarkable, the rest of the evening was great!!!!!!!!!!! :brickwall:

On the 19th June at 1.10am, Saint Peter was doing the night shift at the pearly gates when an un kept man appeared. With the look of Steptoe and the dress sense of Compo the man looked bewilderedly at St Peter.
“where am I?” asked the man to St Peter.
“You are at the gates of Heaven and about to enter” replied St Peter.
The old man went “oh” with almost a look of surprise on his face.
St Peter looked at him and asked “are you ok, you look a bit confused?”
“No I’m fine” replied the old man, “just pleasantly surprised. You can never tell with these thing”
St Peter continued to look at him and said “you must be ok as you are here, what’s your name and I’ll check the list”
“I wasn’t sure what would happen” replied the old man. “I’ve maybe poached a few times and some of the things I called Barbara Woodhouse in the past, well you know” as he stood looking like a guilty schoolboy.
“My names William Thayne but you can call me Bill”
St Peter checked his clipboard and said “yes, you are definitely on the list, you are in the right place, welcome”. “Now you should have come with a couple of things for your entrance to Heaven, where’s your halo and wings?”
Bill replied “Oh dear, I’ve already used them. I wasn’t sure what they were for but I tied the wings to the round thingy. Made a fantastic dummy out of them” he said holding up the dummy to show St Peter with a really pleased look on his face.
“Oh my word” said a shocked St Peter. “Ok we’ll have to get you a new pair for when you are in the house of our lord God. He knows everything and does have standards”
“Knows everything does he?” said Bill.
“Of course he does” replied St Peter.
“Ok if he’s so clever, explain to me why he created Spaniels, was he drunk on holy water that day?” asked Bill.
St Peter looked at Bill. “The lord works in mysterious ways”
“Rubbish” replied Bill.
“Look are you coming in or not? asked St Peter who was now getting a bit flustered in the face of this argumentative man.
“Hold on, wait a minute, I’m not finished yet” said Bill.
“what now?” asked the exasperated St Peter.
“before I come in………………………………….

Sincere condolences to family and friends...I never had the honour of meeting in person but enjoyed his online company. RIP
Muddling along in the hope that one day it starts to make sense.
