Hormone imbalance

Post by High On »

After a failed AI a vet friend suggested the cause might be due to a hormone imbalance. What tests are available for diagnosis of hormone imbalances. She tested clear for brucellosis. It was her first attempted breeding. Progesterone tested for best days to breed. Did two AI's with favorable sperm count minutes prior to insemination. Both went well, no back flow of semen at the time of insemination. Transcervical accompanied by camera.

Thyroid is one to check but also, I seem to remember Canine Herpes infection can cause issues.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

There is no herpes test in the USA to my limited knowledge. I had a Thyroid panel on the female and no sign of any problem. Brucellocious test was clear. The stud has not had any known issues producing. I have another local dog of choice to use as a stud. Hoping a natural breeding will work.
