17 birds for 105 shots today on our DIY syndicate, I shot 1 for 2....eze had two retrieves handled by my wife who picks up behind when i am on a peg, both runners as it happens, i am very proud of both of them 😁👍 this is our 9th season on the syndicate ......wow

You will probably find that the other dogs at the shoot are NOT as well trained as your's is ! You will see for yourself during the day which aspects of her work need more training from you.

Others on here may have other ideas however, I always was inclined to go at things like a bull at a gate !

Go for it......suck it and see.

The first reply I had was from our learned friend Mr wullie god rest his soul , this reply which was right up my street in the "learn it as you go camp" spured me on.....and here we are nine seasons on....what a fabulous forum we are.👍

Last syndicate day tomorrow, it's been a Quiet season for us for various reasons that I won't bore you all with but we have enjoyed the 8 days we have had plus the work days of course. Eze has worked well beating and has had some fab retrieves mainly handled by Lynn (my wife) and my shooting stats have been acceptable with my trusty sxs 👍. Eze will be 10yrs old next season so fingers crossed that she is still fit enough and shows enough interest 🤔, I have no experience to guage it so will just have to trust my instincts 🤔

A really good last day however the stats might not substantiate it .....only 7 birds shot..... It's end of season and we are a small DIY shoot,🤔. I shot 2 for 2....eze had 2 retrieves for Lynn and was good beating....so all is good 👍

My girl has really slowed down since the pyo incident.....she would happily stay on the sofa all day if you let her 🤔 she goes up a gear once we are into birds or out walking in an interesting area but there is a noticeable slow down which I would have prayed for a few years ago but I now find kind of sad that she has lost the intensity that she had up until recently....... ....wow were did the time go 🤔

I always think the saddest day is not when they retire or die but the day I know I have to stop asking them to do as much and let a youngster do the donkey work!
A friend had a dog I had bred and when it was 9 told me he was as fit and busy as ever until he came over and saw it running against a youngster!
