Hello

Post by JayBird »

I finally decided to make an account here so I can participate. I have a 6 month old who loves retrieving but she doesn’t like water. When she was younger she fell into a pond and she hasn’t been too fond of it since. She is fine with her baths though - any tips?

Our pup doesn’t like going into water, however through walking with another dog who loves water and watching her going in, he is slowly building up his confidence to go in too. Could something similar work for you?

Hi! Chances are the pup is not afraid of water but the “falling in” part. As was said previously, wade in shallow water either off leash or without and play. A low slope shore would help too.
