So three weeks into this I am becoming convinced the new puppy was a very good idea. Our rural home with my wife and two old male dogs was very peaceful and controlled. Nothing like a very active and happy cocker pup to shake that up. However, it has largely been positive. My wife loves her and the two old male dogs have been very good. My old cocker Fergal ( her great great grand uncle) tolerates her with patience. The biggest surprise is my grumpy old CBR Hamish who loves her and plays with her nonstop which helps a lot keeping her occupied and out of trouble.
I have been doing 2-3 ten minute outdoors training sessions with her each day and am really happy with her. She is bold and confident but quite attentive and focused on me. I am sure 60+ years of playing this game helps but I also think she is a pup who came with all the right raw materials built in. No doubt there will be frustration but three weeks into this I feel this is going to be a lot of fun

Great to hear! Hoping you’ll keep posting updates on your progress. Same here unfortunately, dogs 13 and 8, so, I too maybe looking for a new pup in the near future from good breeding. Enjoy.
