Hi there, to make a living out of it you will have to do boarding aswell and I would advertise the boarding and then the training because word of mouth will be your best form of advertising the training. If you charge £50 per week for boarding and £60 per week for training you would only need 6 - 8 dogs per week to make a living out of something you enjoy. Keep it cheap and word will get around about your services. Most trainers that I know keep the dogs about 6 weeks. In a few year you may look back and think that get made redundant was the best thing that has happened to you. Best of luck.

Well, I think I told you that I'm planning a pup at some point next year and although it may not have the breeding behind it to be a really good competion dog, it will be my aim to train it to that standard, so I'll be looking for guidance from somewhere and there is no trainer more local to me than you are. :)

Over the time I've been in my job I've had a small handful of people ask me where they can find training for their dog (usually a spaniel and an occaional HPR/Pointer).

£50 per week for boarding and £60 per week
A place near me is full and charges as follows
http://www.mypetstop.co.uk/downloads/price_list1.pdf

£21 per night to £40 per night, Pets this is where the money is! You can add a sofa and a TV for your dog if you want, and even have a webcam so you can keep an eye on "Rover"!!!!! :brickwall:

A girl I work with has a cocker who goes to day care at £10 a day, I offered the cage in the back of the truck for a fiver and a chance for a wee every couple of hours but she didn't want to let the daycare service down

Thanks everyone, lets just say that it's already taken off with alot of interest with me trying to keep folk at bay until the snow disappears (feels like that day will never come!!).

Have also discovered that the paddock 100 yards away from my kennels is not going to be a suitable training ground as my little cocker Nettle creates merry hell and sets all the dogs off howling if I go in there and do some training! Very frustrating, solution may be to put her in the dog trailer. Thankfully there's good rough ground further down the driveway.

Scott, just sending you an email
