My mother is one of those who gets presents either totally spot on, or so wrong you are amazed!!! So last year...she got it very very wrong....she got me a very pale pink dressing gown, and matching slippers with sewn on beads and sparkly bits.............Tarn was only 2 months old then....Now I did need a new dressing gown but my hubby was going to sort it...but no my mother decided she would get it!!!!! So Xmas night I put it on....lasted 20 mins before it needed washing....... and the slippers went in the bin..... I am not an ungrateful person, I love getting presents.....but ones that have been thought out! So sorry to say I sold the dressing gown on Ebay last week.......   Hopefully she'll never know.....thankfully this year she got it spot on!....

Ooh I have one of them! Thankfully now she is getting old I have persuaded her that a cheque would be nicest ;)

I did get the bestest present possible on Monday when we got together with In in laws. My brotherin laws, wifes sister is a very good artist but disabled and as she has not been well I thought that she had forgotten my request for a picture of the Lab I lost this year, no it was there waiting for me and considering she had only ever met him very briefly and had just a few photos she has got an absolute likeness - so much so I was choked up again and couldnt thank her properly  :34:

thats a fantastic present :)
my wife and kids did a very similar thing for me on my 40th of my favourite faithfull old Jack Russell that i loved to bits and who had fathered many litters , i was also choked when when i saw it as the artist had managed to get him just as he was with teeth missing and all his ratting/foxing battle scars :)

Well I had a rotten Christmas, with husband being in hospital again the week before for three days, taken off in 4 wheel drive vehicle by paramedics because of snow; very difficult to get him home because of snow, had to borrow a 4 wheel drive. Christmas day he collapsed again but refused to go to hospital when paramedics said he should, collapsed again Tuesday after Christmas, in hospital again. Finally discovered he had heart block due to scarring either from heart attack or bypass surgery, had a pacemaker which didn't fit properly, had to wait another two days for it to be put in and he is finally home. It is eight weeks to the day he had the bypass and it has been hell ever since

He has just been discharged today and I am so scared he is going to collapse again, shouldn't do with a pacemaker, but you never know  It is a great way to lose weight, down to 7st 5lbs, think of all the lovely food I can now eat to regain lost weight :-D

Lab has missed his training but I will now make a concerted effort again :-D
