I would love to see footage of your trials as well. I have video but on CD so I don't know how to go about that. Pretty cool CD from way back when well known people were a bunch younger. Even some Hall of Famers. :-D They even wore knickers. :-D One thing I see about you folks is that you dress better. :-D

There were a few complaints last season about poeple turning up in jeans, some clubs started to remind poeple to "dress" accordingly
If it was easy it wouldn't be so much fun.

Neat. When you say champs, do you mean the National Championship? It takes about 5-6 days to get it all done here at the National. Other trials are usually 2 day events to get them done. Some will run the open one day and the armature the next. But here the amateur dogs are just as good or better then the open class. Many trials it is harder to win an amateur then an open.

Even without the dress code at trials I have been to some shoots where jeans and baseball caps were frowned heavily on. That applied to us pickers up as well as to the guns. I normally wear tweeds and have even been known to put on the hated tie !

It used to be said that to turn up to shoots wearing jeans showed disrespect to the shoot. I don't even have a pair of jeans.

We have a large shoot around here, all the pickers up have to wear dark green clothing with shirt and tie. You would not be asked back if you did'nt

funny cocker trials and springer trials on the east coast of the country tend to get more dressed up which I like who wants to look like a cheese ball when you are out working a slick dog. who cares if the guns can't see yeah:P

LOL, Yeah thats a different feeling for sure. Jeans are just the American free for all way I guess. You can take the man out of America, but you can't take the America out of the man. :-D If I ever visit the UK I promise I will put on nickers and a Tweed jacket. But do I have to be clean shaved? :-D

At one shoot I picked up at for many years and still do, I used to turn up wearing postmans trousers and a post office issue shirt and pullover too. I changed only my jacket, my hat and my boots. I worked as a delivery postman and used to beat world records running round my delivery early in the morning to get to the shoot on time ! Even my gamebag was sometimes my postbag ! All that was happily accepted and even joked about at that shoot but the wearing of jeans was a definite no-no ! :naughty:
