Lakeland Gundog Club (south lakes training)

Post by winniebob »

Lakeland Gundog Club
South Lakes area

Lakeland Gundog Club have finally got ourselves up and going.

We are holding a training day on 5 June 2011. Both sessions are hosted by experienced trainers. Please PM me for further details or contact directly to lgc@btinternet.com. It would be appreciated if you would indicate the class you are interested in attending: eg spaniel class or retriever sessions and a little about the level you think you are and what you need from training. We are hoping to get the right people in for the right training session here so nobody finds themselves either out of their depth or bored rigid.

Spaniel Training Day
Sunday 5 June 10.00am - 1pm
The cost is to be £8.00 per handler -
This is going to be a maximum of 10 handlers and places allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis, so if you're interested then let me know as soon as you can.

* Please note: the trainers for this have asked that all money that would be due to them for their time and diesel be donated to http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/1h4h.html

Retriever Training Day (including hpr)
Sunday 5 June 10.00am – 1pm
The first hour and half will at a puppy/basic level (sit/stays/lead work/steadiness and the second hour and half will be more advanced retriever work. (dogs steady, off lead/ to thrown dummies/ walked up exercise ie mock field trial/directional work etc).
The cost is to be £8.00. (you may enter only the first hour and ½ session at £4.00 or both at £8.00).

A percentage of money raised from this session will also be donated to helpforheroes.

Ps it's Holker Garden festival the same weekend  so for those of you wanting to make it a weekend in the lakes you could do Holker on the saturday, find yourself a nice real ale pub for the Saturday night and train your dog on the sunday. Everyone happy :-D

edited to say the retriever day is retrievers only

If its who I think its is there two of the best around, both top class. I'm basing this on the fact they don't want anything for it and last Saturday ;)

Fusey might get roped in as well.... That's if I'm guessing right, I might be wide of the mark though.

You're wrong actually David ;)

Andy and Fiona Robinson are running the spaniel session  John Lupton is running the labs. I am very grateful to them as by them giving their time they are giving us a chance to get something up and running in the South Lakes.

Keep the other two in mind then. They were both more than willing to help you and as you found out they do it for the love and not the cash.

Best of luck with the sessions, I'm sure they'll go well :)

It was great fusey, and good to spend some time with you watching your dog hunt up that last half an hour. I was very impressed at the way you caught the cocker, must have been a full back in a previous life eh. The day was excellent and I enjoyed it, it was one of the days I came away and thought 'Ive really really learnt something here'.

Nice to meet you.

Ali can you send me a form? Not sure if my last email got sent or not. I've txted Vicky but she is on holiday this week, I'll forward the form to her anyway.
I thought I had a charity dog show on the same day, but it's the day before so huge relief there! Looking forward to meeting you and your hounds. No laughing at me and my naughty dogs :-D
