Re: Line Breeding
Line breeding is when the pups are born F.T.Ch.'s but it is called inbreeding when the pups are born with two heads.

I think as a general rule we should follow our own lead, and the closest we should go is cousins. The at the weirdo's in the mountains of the deep south in america, should put anyone off inbreeding.

breeders of rare or nearly extinct animals, can sometimes after genetic evaluation of two littermates breed brother to sister, as genetically they appear unrelated. (having a different set fo genes).

Whenever a post about breeding comes along the 'duelling banjos' tune pops into my head.BIKRS wrote:I think as a general rule we should follow our own lead, and the closest we should go is cousins. The at the weirdo's in the mountains of the deep south in america, should put anyone off inbreeding.

Re: Line Breeding
Inbreeding or linebreeding or whatever name you give it, does not "create" problems. It certainly does not create health problems. It just shows things in dogs which are there and sometimes stay hidden due to outcrossing. When bad things "come alive" it permits you to cull the undesired specimens, go on with the good ones and improve your line and maybe the breed.
