They do squeak, but I've had one in the house nearly 5 years and none of mine have worked out it squeaks yet! Not even my so called hard mouthed Chocolate lab!

We have one...its easy with any of these things to disable the squeek. you find the round bit where the squeek is made and poke a skewer through to break the reeds....no more squeek
