pup and dog un -destructable!
............................
Aluminium edges, marine ply base, ribbed rubber matting 'evo stuck' and cut to size 'under the aluminium edges'.
Takes a power washer and a all weather!
All home made and cost around £10 for materials. ;)
Now Im probabley being really soft here, but I am new to the kenneling side of life and this will be there first winter outside. Do yours get anything else as it gets toward winter (apart from a thicker coat!)
Yea!
More heat!..But the beds are the same ;)

As a young lads of 15 my brother and I were mad keen on our lurchers and the best beds we came up with ie ( liberated / borrowed ) from a local building site were the large yellow mortar bins that brickies get their mortar in.

They are solid plastic so no chewing issues and can be power washed and disinfected and with them having feet, f0r the forks of the forklift to go into are elevated 8 inches off the kennel floor so avoid drafts.

If you know any brickies they will be able to get you one no probs

There is probobly a designer gundog one on the market but I bet it costs a fortune and won't be as durable as a mortar bin

I've had these for YEARS ... they're virtually indestructible, but you can get replacement covers of various types (mesh or fabric) if necessary. LIkewise, covers remove for washing if necessary (not really necessary with the mehe covers) Should you need to travel with them, they're collapsible as well!

Whatever design you choose, you may wish to consider whether or not it might be better for a dog to have a mattress type bed so that it can decide what position to select for its slumber rather than a shaped bed that FORCES a dog to curl up all the time.

Just a thought.

I use the cow mats/stable mats, they are pretty dam good, having 3" polystyrene sheet underneath it gives some additional insulation.

I will take a pic later when I get home.

I also have it lining the bottom of the puppy crate now.

My dog certainly seams to find it comfortable.

We have 2 of these:

And one of the original beds mentioned above. Neither have been able to be chewed by our ardent bed chewer.
