I did look at the Hi lost/that'll do, but it only has 20% chicken whereas Champ has 33% Lamb/beef.

I don't understand the issue with wheat...

Green Special appears to be made by Taylor's who ever they are!

Its another of the ubiquitous "cereals, meat and animal derivatives" brigade though which, to my mind, means they can put what they like in but the main ingredient will always be grain of one sort or another.

A lot of dogs have issues with wheat, it isn't readily absorbed and in quite a few dogs will act as a propellant.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

It does make me smile a bit though, we all look for a decent food for our dogs yet even with the strict regulations we don't know what goes in our own grub apparently.

Rascal,
You read my mind ! If human food is being adulterated what is happening with the food we feed our animals ?
We spend so much time/ effort/ money seeking the correct product and I have little doubt that at times what it says on the label is not what is in the bag hence my recent transition to a ''lesser'' product in constituent terms but surprisingly it seems to fit the bill.
I am delighted to hear of your experience with CSJ Tripe as I intend adding of portion of this food to the Green Special and blending my own mix.

I feed mine on the summer Autarky. £13.59 for 15kg from Costco, they all love it, but I'm not sure how it fairs nutritionally compared to some of the others. Would be interested in opinions. I have in the past used Arden Grange, Royal Canin, burns and Fish 4 Dogs, I did once try the Skinners muesli type food but the resulting output was most unsatisfactory!!
