That was superb! I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen the video. Well done, hope you do trial him and I hope you both do well.

The man's voice sounds like Roberts from Polmaise Gundogs.

Edit: it is 'Polmaise'.

Nice work but i must confess that polmaise has already shown me that video as well as a couple more of gumbo. Good to see one working. Here there are virtually no English cockers they are all the American type and very. .. and I mean VERY unlikely to ever see one worked or hunted.

Isn't it great to be able to say "Nice work" without having to add "...for a show dog". It's just great work full stop! Hope my working cocker pup retrieves like that when she's older.

I'd like to know more about the trainer and training methods used - would think that American cocker fanciers on this side could really capitalise from this person's expertise in helping them "regain" a working gundog breed.

Thank you all for all your kind words he is a very special guy to me indeed in answer to your question the answer is "I" train him.... "I" train him every time we go out the door and in the earier days even inside the house with things like presentation.."I" have taught him all he knows now.... the question should really have been who trains ME well that will be my Mentor, friend and a man a truley respect Robert Johnstone... Polmaise Gun dogs. As for the training methods used... just do what works...if its not working stop doing it... its not working :) I would LOVE for the work I have done with Gumbo to kick start American Cockers being a respected breed in the field...

Have you any videos of him hunting some cover?
If it was easy it wouldn't be so much fun.
