We counted 4 or 5 on the scan. We had 5. Flyte once again stopped contracting after the first pup and it was a 4am rush to the vets for emergency oxytocin after giving her 2.5 hours to get going again. Without the scan there could've been a chance that I thought she was genuinely done and we could have lost her or the remaining pups.
She wasn't massive this pregnancy. More of a saggy but full tummy. She didn't really expand out wards at all.

The wave lengths for visual diagnostic scanning and ultrasound therapy are completely different. Pregnancy scanning is safe - the top throughbred horses with multi million dollar foals in utero are scanned to 3-4 times prior to ovulation, again to confirm ovulation after covering, then at 14 days, 16 days, 28 days, 42 days and a sex determination scan at 65 days. If it were dangerous then they wouldn't risk putting the foal through all that!
