Thanks everyone,
I did worry about his sight as well but it is only during the retrieves that it happens, so I dont think it is.

As for the correction of bad behaviour we have never done this is anyway, so I don't think that is what it could be as we always try to make the retrieves fun, to keep his attention.

As for when it starts it tends to start when we do retrieves that are quite far away, or when the dummy is hidden over small hill so that we can't really see each other.

As for what is going on before the retrieve we tens to keep Oscar abit away from the other dogs so that he doesnt start carrying on as he sometimes wants to start playing with the other dogs. So we try to keep him calm. Which he us then he gets to the dummy and that's when it goes wrong.

Nothing to do with retrieving, but my dad's sheepdog pulls grass when someone opens the field gates in front of her!

Heidi it could well be that with Lauren’s dog just over excited behaviour, difficult to tell really.

Hopefully Lauren will contact Graeme and arrange a 1-2-1 with him and they will be able to sort it and move on with Oscar’s training with a plan for gaining his focus on her and working him through it. :-D
