As mentioned earlier by Naj I put duvets in my kennels and they last for at least one winter but my dogs are non-chew ......so far !
All I do is use duvets my wife has decreed fit for the bucket plus a couple of new ones at about £8 each. The duvets get alternated to let the used ones get aired out every couple of days. I have fairly high sided wooden home made beds inside my two kennels and the dogs do not drag the duvets out and into the run.
The duvets are doubled up to fit inside the dog beds and make a thick, comfortable and warm sleeping place for the dogs. So much so that they sometimes don't want to get up in the morning !
It is a very cheap and very effective sort of bedding for dogs but a chewer would wreck the whole set-up. I am waiting to find out if my 7 months old springer pup will be a chewer !
I used to use sample carpet squares cadged from local furniture shops. I just tossed about half a dozen squares into the kennel then chucked them in to the bin a week or so later and replaced them with more of these very easily obtained, cost nothing, squares. The dogs were , for some reason, far more inclined to chew them up than they are with the duvets.

Re: Kennel bedding
I use a cheap waterproof dog mat/bed straight on the kennel floor
The sleeping box of the kennel is raised, well insulated, free from draft and a heater in each box
