Ha 👍

My hard drive remote control is now dead because last night when Mrs ips told her to give her the remote back she took it as a run into kitchen and take it to dad, by which time the on button was knackered 😞
Muddling along in the hope that one day it starts to make sense.

I think NickH and Judy makes some great points. Dogs pick up on body cues far quicker then verbal commands. I've got my sister/brother in law staying at the moment and they aren't used to a dog. It's interesting to see how my dog is totally confused by their body language which often gives out all the wrong messages, unknown to them, and to which she is giving all sorts of obscure and confused responses. She just doesn't know what to make of them.

If only people who train dogs were as good at anticipating situations as dogs are...

When a dog is close I have found hand signals far more effective than verbal commands and often when shooting over experienced dog who knows its job find I do not need the verbal command at all. I never realised just how many minor hand signals I give and how much the dogs pick up on them until I saw some film of myself shooting over them. To be honest I didn't realise I was doing it.
This happens a lot of times calling out the wrong dog names. But I guess they are more of listening to gestures than verbal command
