Personally, I think that sort of FB site is run by wankers for wankers. You are well out of it...…..which is what I still feel about a certain other FB "closed group" of so - called gundog trainers .
I don't know what you said on there but if it was meant to help other cocker owners then the cocker folk should have accepted it as such.

The group was set up to keep us informed (or so I thought) re the Cocker / Sprocker investigation and to encourage people to get involved. When they copied and pasted a post from another private, member's only, group then started ridiculing the other group I felt obliged to point out that it wasn't good for their image and off topic. That obviously didn't go down well.
Pity, could have been a force for good if it had been managed properly.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

That has happened to many people who in anyway support Andy Platt, that's a "funny way" to moderate a group!! You had a good run, along with Naj!!!! going around in circles and being "prickly" if, in your opinion, you were not rude, some may disagree!!!
I'm still wondering if the Admin ever looked at the result of the trial she attacked me and the club committee about. Mud sticks and they seem very good at throwing it.
Even those who at first supported the group are telling me it's done more harm to Cockers than anything that has come before...

Positive Cockers! I'm afraid some Cocker Groups just want to keep out of it at all costs, its gone on too long and has benefitted nobody. Best to keep a distance.
Did try and get the two of them to see that hiding things begs questions, sows seeds of doubt in people's minds and does the 'cause' no good whatsoever. As for being willing to show us 'evidence' or, at least selected evidence, well, I accepted your offer and look where it got me - deleted! The comments re Jan and I being the same person or people with fake id's was ridiculous although it did give people the opportunity to see the type of people who are running this campaign, hopefully that may do a bit of good. Wonder if all those comments have been deleted, including the downright rude comment addressed to me which I pointed out to Admin.
Look up a definition of "rude" please.

I agree, lot of mud slinging when you need to be above reproach.
Ironically I was a supporter, still am in some ways, I just feel its gone on too long, has split Cocker owners into factions and we are still no further forward.

I don’t think anybody gets a good run, DR, when they start censoring constructive criticism and suppressing honest debate.
I’m always game for a joke if it’s not malicious but then when Andy turn arounds and accuses someone of being a wind up merchant with nothing constructive to say Even after he’s tagged them in order to drag them into a conversation they had no interest in is both duplicitous and contradictory.
Proper Cocker started with good intentions but now seems to have completely foundered and all we are left with is personal attacks on clubs, individuals and other sites and a load of introspective navel picking by the few still loyal to the cause.

I involved myself Jan last year & had two of my Cockers Embark tested.One I had no reason to doubt & came back 100%,the other I thought interestingly, is predominately show bred with a smattering of working,but with a main culprit 5 or 6 gens back.
Her results came back as mixed breed,62.4% show & 37.6% working,they seem to demarcate between workers & shows as different breeds.I think they were a couple of percent out.Very impressive in my book,but no sign of Springer.
So either the accused dog is a Cocker,or that after so many gens the blood becomes pretty well diluted,which seems the way forward if you use a Cocker you know is free from Springer blood.
I did the excercise for “good of the cause” hoping that all results would help build a picture.I Am not aware that my results have been used for the cause,which is disappointing.
I found that the goading of people asking pertinent questions & the description of the dismissed small claims case in Stoke rather distasteful.I don’t post there any more,but watch.I guessed you were on a hiding to nothing Judy & like other people over the last year or so,especially people that had an understanding of genetics & DNA were pretty well driven out.
It’s a shame,as I feel really strongly about all this,but I can’t help but feel they do the cause harm.

Bill, with FB, you never know - what if this whole foofaraw came about because somebody cross-posted on the warring sites that "As 'proper cockers' go, there'll never be another Joe Cocker?"
I also hereby vouch for the moderator's MO as sans rudeness or attack mode - plenty of questioning and saracasm (and 99.1% of it directed at you) but that's right endearing, believe it or not!
