At the end of the day it's all down to one thing - affordability. In an ideal world we could all either
buy the very best dogs and the best training or provide all the very best training equipment and
build and stock rabbit pens etc.The trouble is those who cannot ( me included ) just do the best
we can afford. There will always be your Halsteads and Irvings for whom no expense is spared to
achieve their aims - the rest of us just dream on
the 10000 hour theory!?

Sportsman and athletes have different combinations of muscle fibres in particular fast and slow twitch fibres which enable them to preform actions faster and recover better. The balance of these is different dependant on the sporting activity, i.e. sprinters have many more fast twitch muscle fibres than marathon runners. So with 1,000,000 hours of training an individual without the correct muscle make up will never become a top performer.
Rehearsed activity is what we are doing with our dogs, many people who have what they consider simple jobs these can not be done by without rehearsing the activity. Take driving as this is some thing many of us will have taken up.
When we started we were slow hesitant looked at the end of the bonnet and could not have the radio on. Not sure about you lot but I now can have the radio on whilst having a chat on the phone, steering with my knees whist gazing across the feeds for pigeons, I often get to places now and have no idea which route I have taken.
This is why it is important not to rush things.
