My money is as others and on hernia.
I am no vet so be guided by what your vet says as hernias are bread and butter to any vet as very common.
I have had two pups with this and one was operated on at a later age and other cleared up and disappeared.
The reason I have posted is not to give the obvious which is do as guided by your vet and not advice from posts but to advise that as far as I recall pups registered from KC used to come with free insurance for a number of weeks or months.
Are you not covered
Just a thought as easily forgotten about.
Maybe they have stopped the free cover I don't know just a thought
