I know that they like a varied diet! they are scavengers after all :brickwall:
Today,,wee Scott' had a mouse that he immediately snatched from outside the kennels, and I stupidly got worried because we also have poison blocks around the hen run,so I pannicked  and as i did ,he smartly gobbled it in one
We then went our usual trip into the field with the pond in it, just at this time of year, the frogs are coming out, seeking more warmer climate , so he immediately ate one of them....The sheep have been out of that field for a week now,so its a good place to let him run around?..only thing is he has now developed a flavour for sheep shite'! :brickwall:
Anyhow on our way back, one of the dogs from next door ,had obviously taken thier 'munchy bone' out with them at some time  ..as it was over a week old and dropped at the base of an old tree, Well Scott ,found this and decided to devour it ,finding the added attraction of the Blue bottles flying away from his new found prize!
The apples have started to fall of the trees here so as they are much like a tennis ball we have been using in our play games , then wee Scott decided they were an amusing thing to bring to me ! thanks for that, with all the wasp holes and rotten fruit dripping like syrup

When I got back from my 10 minute excercise ! the missus ,said "you better feed that wee dog, it's looking a bit thin!"
Scott is happily lying in his bed! after being 'fed' his usual meal (the missus done that when I was out with the other dogs)...
I dont know the name of the manufacturer  ...I think it was 'whatever we had at the time'

I found Eukanuba too high in protein so changed to JWB but now feed raw.

My advice would be to buy something of decent quality then stick to what works for your dog

Pink Gundog wrote:Nature diet puppy meat everytime here. I dont like feeding dry food to puppy's as they have to drink one heck of a water to compensate for it, you can soak it I suppose but feeding meat IMO gives them the best start and as the saying goes "You are what you eat". Eukanuba is not the best dry food on the market but better than some of the muck out there. If you are desperate to feed a dry food then something like Fish 4 Dogs, healthy Paws, Barking heads, James Wellbeloved are some of the better choices out there :-D
In your opinion ;)
Of course it is but its not rocket science :-D

I wouldnt feed Dr Johns if it was the last food on the planet but some of my friends do and their dogs thrive on it. The smell of it makes me boak

Glad to hear Elmo isn't as unusual as I thought he was, having heard wonderful things about JW! He started life at his breeders on Arden Grange and I bought some with him (he produced "porridge" on that!) so I thought I'd try JW and we got soup filled with air bubbles! Delightful! Nature Diet or Pedigree Chum cans (Yes! I know some think PC is awful, but our previous dogs lived to 15 1/2 and 16 on it, so I don't think it can be too bad!) seem to suit him and we now have sausages to scoop! Yay! (Except when he has found something he shouldn't have, usually in the middle of the day. Might have to muzzle him in the garden, so he can't get at any fallen fat ball crumbs ;) )

I had my litter of pups on Chudleys and they did really well on it. So much so that i movedmy adult girls onto Chudleys Working Crunch. :-D

Ive used Dr John Platinum in the past. It produced a lot of poop. Also the Dr John Silver once when the store had no Platinum...............never again :brickwall:
