A fairly busy week for the LBF , he's done well but we have had to have words once or twice as he's thinking he knows it all at this end of the season
His hunting was good on the syndicate yesterday pulling out on occasion but a little chat while 2 inches from his face sorted that to an acceptable level .
One notable retrieve on pheasant which I had dropped well behind me on the first drive and had waited until the whistle to send him , he took a good line through the woods and after over shooting the drop hunted back onto it . Then giving me a good delivery .
He once again refused to cross the river for a bird which dropped 40 yards behind , I think I've stopped him crossing to many times this season due to swollen rivers  thankfully the bird was collected by Milo's previous owners young Lab who ran in
We then had some good retrieves on duck with him only running in on the fifth and last one I let him have !
Wilf is looking like a neglected dog he's so skinny now so a quiet week with a lot of calories coming up

Nice pics Mike,he is a lovely little dog and I am pleased to have met him on a couple of occasions. He is good at his job as well as being a very appealing pleasant natured dog. A credit to you and there will be many great years of sport for you both. Hope to see you both again before the season ends.

He's always got such a mournful face! well done little Wilf, not so infamous now, sounds like he's had an excellent season.
cheers,
Alice.

I think the LBF knows the season will end soon !!!
He went like a nutter today if I wanted him to or not , ran in on birds picking up , and p###ed me off :(
The usual beating standard , working hard and well then while jumping down a bank into a stream he got himself court up on old barb wire , his front feet thankfully were on the ground and I jumped down and picked him up , then with the help of the shoot captain got him off it . The barb was old and blunt so hadn't punctured the skin , he barely let me check it out before wanting to get on with the job  It was a truly frightening time though !

So now we shall see what he can get I to in the last week , one days beating two days shooting , I think I'll have a bloody nervous breakdown :(

What a shame, but at least the season has almost finished. Hope Wilf is OK.
