alpha, huh? The bitches most fun to train are just that, too - them that lifts their leg to pee after they've squatted. They'll run through a wall for you - or more likely run through it for themselves. This one

broke into the storage shed yesterday and dragged a 40-lb. bag of Purina the length of the house to let me know she wasn't exactly chuffed having reduced rations at 10 years old - and that there'd best be more food in her bowl from now on... At least she didn't say so by "marking" it with an exclamation point.

There are some interesting ideas about leg cocking bitches.....research suggests that a female who sits in the womb between two male pups gets extra testosterone which changes her forever making her a little more competitive and/or aggressive. These can become real nightmare bitches when neutered as the calming effects of oestrogen wane. Though most of the research has been done on mice there is some evidence suggesting it holds true for bitches as some with post neutering aggression improved when treated for incontinence with....oestrogens. Food for thought.

Bigtime. Thanks for that, Vicky. The real "nightmare bitches" was when I had three of five that cocked it - and were cockettes of the walk to paraphrase the old saying with their strutting. Lots of blood was shed - some of it mine. All amity and daisies now - only leg lifter left, above, is feeling the pull of gravity in more ways than one in her advancing years.

Supposedly Bitches are more "Faithful" to there trainer/owner where as boys tend to have the wandering eye. Ill be getting a bitch in a few years and will most likely have her for breeding and to take shooting and hopefully she'll be even more easier than my boy, hes a handful sometimes but he is entire as used for stud purposes. Great dog but has wandering hearing lol!!
