Good point, you should be ok with most of the above mentioned vans in the car derived form with the seats folded or removed. Just might need to tint the windows in the rear.

I think the speed restrictions relate to non motorways, single / dual carriage ways etc the bigger vans are supposed to be max 60 mph. Seeing the speeds most of them go, I think most folk are unaware of this.

i got warned about getting an ex-police van from 2 serving police people as apparently they rag them to death but was under the assumnption that they get serviced regularly and the dog vans were ok?

vixen. wrote:Hope this is in the right place. Has anyone got any recommendations/pros-cons for a dog van  ? I quite like the size/layout of the new shape berlingo and the caddy but am open to any suggestions as long as it's not too big. I don't really want/need a 4x4 as most of the shoots/trials I go to don't really require the use of one these days but open to having a look at one if needs be. The reason I'm swaying toward a small van is the space, and some of the little diesels boast really good mpg which is important when you're from Yorkshire  , I don't want anything too thirsty!
My friend had just this weekend brought the new Berlingo enterprise for £8995, it has three seats through the front and he is getting it kitted out in the back, it's an absolute bargain at that price it's loaded with every extra you could think of and 55mpg 3years warranty or 100.000 miles there's companies still selling them for £13.5k!!! Am trying to comvience the mrs to let me get on!!

http://www.motoring.co.uk/car-news/citr ... rise_29637

Shows it still at £13k + vat

The van is very very nice well worth a look I think he see it so cheap at a company at Barnsley but they prices matched it when the wife said she would rather drive there and get it.

Edited to say found it

petnutrition wrote:I drive a new berlingo its great and has got me through some tough terrain. They do an xtr+ model which has better ground clearance and a limited slip diff as well as better tyres and under belly protection. Not sure if its worth 12.5plus vat like. I got my 62reg enterprise with no miles for 8.7plus vat. Great van and I'm getting a good 50mpg on mixed consumption. Hope that helps

What does the fuel tank hold and how many miles to a full tank do you get. He you got over the no taps and shit breakfast from the Thornhill INN
