Our ancestors spent a few hundred years developing the Cocker, why ruin it with inferior blood? :snooty: I don't see the point in breeding a cross breed litter and selling for peanuts when you could breed decent dogs and sell at normal prices, unless unscrupulous people are breeding a litter of mongrels in between pedigree litters as a way of getting around the KC ruling of one litter per annum.

Its a beautiful bright morning and I'mm off picking up with my COCKERS! (Sorry Naj  ). Bred for generations to be, well, Cockers.... :brickwall:

Only some shows .... those that charge admission to the public.

That is true. I thought of cockers in the 70's as fads and fancies owned by people who were just trying to be a bit different.

I think it was 1905 ish, that cockers and springers were really seperated as different breeds and it was weight related.
as for the poos, If someone wants to pay £900 or so as long as they are happy with the poo they got I say fair play , the price is what the price is.

Cheers .

I love to hear the cockers and springers came from the same litters in the early days.... sounds great....
Please some one explain to me the differences in the colours -Springers B/W. L/W and tri and for the Cockers, sing a rainbow......
Red and Yellow and Blue and Gold, Black and Lemon and Roan, bibbed and speckled and solid as old, and some one else go on....

Simply because over the decades an awful lot of other stuff has been added to cockers. That's why the coi data for cockers is almost pointless as the pedigree is often not all it seems and because of this the breed imo is much healthier than some fear.
If it was easy it wouldn't be so much fun.
