The labs usually get a bucket of warm water and horse shampoo if they've been rolling in poo, and the if the terrier has ventured into the muck heap in search of rats he gets a good scrub in the kitchen sink (!)
If they've been in the sea/out in the lovely weather we have been having recently, then its just a rub down with a towel and then they usually lie in front of the fire.

I hope there's some sarcasm in that, surely no-one's having any lovely weather !!

Weather here in Dawlish has been fantastic, we have even had to take the rail line down so we don't get to many visitors

Don't need hair dryer anymore. Trained steadiness to the fan heater.

I know i'm a bit late to the party, but have u considered a fleece coat for ur cocker.
Spaniels are bad to dry properly with a towel, but mud will dry on below fleece and just give it a rub down outside later on when dry and all the mud should just flake off

I think there brilliant put it on my springer after a shoot/duck flight by time i have had a blether wi boys in the bothy and drove home he's almost dry and nice and toasty on his chest and back,
My dogs never get bathed every now and again whe they roll in something they shouldn't have they get thrown in river tomato suace rubbed into them them a few more retrives across the river.

Megsdad wrote:Thanks awfully for your replies. I only took to bathing the dog since this bug that has killed about 16 dogs ( see the Alabama post on here). I'd hate to lose a dog for the sake of 5 minutes in the bath.
Think this is the reason rather than the muck countryyboy....
