Not sure I would want more protein with the one I feed already being 26%.
It suits mine though at the minute but like most, I'm a pain for changing food. Recently tried CSJ Tripe for one of the dogs, that was ok as long as you don't overfeed.

Excess protein just gets peed out, does nothing to gee a dog up contrary to popular belief - high sugar/fat more likely to make them "high" as processed into energy.
Important thing as you say is definitely to feed what suits your dogs

Ive fed raw green tripe for years, I never freeze it (sometimes its even steaming)
I feed it every day except a Sunday when they get a high protein feed like skinners salmon or eukanuba.
The difference in coat when a dog I have in for training is on it for more than two weeks is incredible.
