The simple part is teaching a dog the trick of stopping at distance with a dummy or ball. The confusing and frustrating part is to get the same result when on live game, more especially in water. Then, the general advice that worked with the dummy or ball seems to be incomplete... whole new level when instinct kicks in, rather than play, isn't it?
