Unless there is a trial being held on rabbits only you will have to wait until the shooting season starts to see a trial. There will be one or two "Tests" before then but no trials.

We are at last in our new home in Huntly, Aberdeenshire having moved from East Sussex. I am very keen to find opportunities to continue training myself and my two year old Golden Retriever, Maxi, in the disciplines of gundog training. Can any forum member or club give me some information regarding what may be possible in this area. We have had a year of training at Ashburton Gundog Group in East Sussex where every Saturday up to thirty or more like minded individuals and their dogs were helped by four or five trainers, split into various classes from puppy to experienced, for two hours. I'm not sure whether this type of training is available in this locality but I would be very keen to find out what is possible.

John

I think your best bet would be to get in touch with (also reasonably local to you) ... http://www.mfsrc.co.uk Probably the most pro-active club for training in Scotland.
