possibility of working her
Re: possibility of working her
We are all packed for tomorrow
, first day at the shoot that we had our first day beating, first day eze retrieved a bird, first day I shot a bird. Will report back tomorrow but to be honest given that I have done nothing with her all year by way of any training and I haven't pulled the trigger since January my expectations from both of us is very low to say the least
watch this space

I will watch for report. Just relax and enjoy the day with Eze. I am sure she will be great. She does not have to be perfect, just make you happy.

Re: possibility of working her
Well that went very well,
As soon as she heard the keys in the gun cabinet she got all excited so she obviously still enjoys it
She worked very well beating and had 6 very good retrieves, 3 for me and 3 for my wife who picks up behind me when I am on a peg. She was a little slow on the whistle
but to be fare I was very easy on her because the syndicate days are very forgiving and as we are not doing any commercial beating days this year I took the decision to just enjoy the days we have out if that makes sense. Incidentally I shot well 3 pheasant for 6 shots (with the trusty sxs sidelock) so pleased with that. Incidentally she worked hard all day and showed no signs of slowing down on the last drive beating some very hard going cover in what is our largest and heaviest wood. A very enjoyable day

Re: possibility of working her
Had a good second day, I had a guest shooting my gun so was back gunning and beating alternative drives ... She did great beating like a pro as one would expect and had three great retrieves on first drive of my guests birds then another two very very good retrieves of very strong runners on fourth drive behind another gun...... again a very good day had by all ,

Great to hear you’re still out enjoying your dog.

Update, all going well, not done anything other than the syndicate days which I have been very relaxed on if i am honest, but even on a bad day is far from the worst dog there. .....i refer you to our dearly departed wullies post on first page re dogs on shoots
.....it's been a journey thats for sure
