No one knows how many breeds are included but given that the AKC have 189 register breeds thats 63 dogs per breed as a baseline. That's obliviously a very simplistic view but how would a small baseline and not knowing the purity of these dogs affect the results.
Also what is the effect when an owners closely line bred animals are tested, would it make any difference?
Good points David.

You've said that before, but I've asked I don't know how many times, why are the wisdom tests so consistently returning springer breeding in certain lines of cockers, and why is no cocker breeding found in springers? It can't be a fluke!!
It isn't consistently returning them, simple as that. Who is shelling out for testing lots of unrelated cockers and springers from other lines? No-one, there's been less than 5 I've seen the results for and one of those was the repeat tested dog who is both "pure springer" and "sprocker". The test is a joke for this purpose, don't believe me if you don't to Dawnrazor but it's of zero use in the case against the accused.
Nope, its just an inaccurate test. They take your money, give you their opinion but say that the test result may not be correct, nice work if you can get it!
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

Nobody has ever said that but what we're trying to explain is, that the wisdom test is not good enough to prove anything, really. Don't let yourself get confused by the 'DNA' thing - you seem to think you'll get a clear "black or white" answer from doing the wisdom test but you don't for all the reasons posted earlier.
Falsifications of pedigrees and registration are likely to have happened not only in cockers but ALL breeds at one point, nobody is denying that (the whole system is based on "gentlemen's agreement" but there aren't many of those left) BUT you CANNOT prove it via the wisdom DNA test. What you can do is to take a simple step to stop it happening or at least make it pretty, darn difficult in the future ACROSS all breeds.
Right, I understand that the test is "said" to be worthless, ok.
Now, can someone please tell me how, when three samples are sent in, 1 from a cocker, 1 from a springer and 1 from a sprocker who's parents are the cocker and springer, with only the micro chip numbers as info, the test said the cocker, not from the suspect lines, was a cocker, the springer was a springer and the sprocker was a sprocker?
How do the tests come back from the suspect lines as having springers blood?
How do tests come back from cockers without the suspect lines come back as cockers?
How do the tests come back from springers showing no cocker blood?
I accept that many do not believe in the efficacy of the test, I've got that, so answers?
That's all I want to know.
They don't. I've seen results for a Springer that said Springer and Sprocker (same dog tested twice). I've seen results from a Cocker of Irish breeding (none of the lines accused) - Sprocker. I've seen pups by a recent Championsip winner being accused - full cocker.
No-one is shouting the results that don't fit the argument from the rooftops. Why would they?
