The whole issue needs to be fully investigated by the KC but they lack the balls and motivation to do so.
Once an investigation has been completed the matter is either proved or disproved. They take appropriate action and the matter is closed and we can all move on, whatever direction that may be.
Until this happens speculation will continue to the detriment of the sport breed and everyone associated with it.
If it's felt a judge is no longer suitable to judge a championship then they should be removed from both not one. If they're not suitable to judge a championship due to their views then they're not suitable to decide what dogs qualify for the championship when running under them in open stakes. It's all or nothing. They're either capable of judging impartially and putting forward the best dog or they're not.
The whole thing needs a total and impartial review, by people who are not involved in the running of dogs, not in any camp, pro or anti. Until then the farce continues.

Yes I agree too, it needs impartial investigation and maybe a few changes to ensure it can't happen again. Its all most people want, fairness.

Surely an investigation is to determine if anything did happen?

If the KC have the balls to make a few changes then nobody can cast aspersions like this again and the gun dog camp wont be split into the "oh yes they have" - "oh no they haven't" ever again. As it is I reckon a) there's no smoke without fire and b) its blown up on social media likely beyond whatever happened/ was said initially. Whatever, its very divisive and unpleasant for all concerned.
Why should it be such a stress checking dogs before competitions of any kind and also checking parentage of dogs which have done well and are likely to be used a lot of times, if any kind of competition is set up to allow the cream to come to the top to improve a breed then we ought to be making sure it is the cream? These days there's so much money involved it might be a good idea to eliminate the possibility of cheating.

Something a little bit similar happened some years ago with HPR trials. Some judges decisions were extremely "iffy" and after many years of this the K.C. at last appointed "trial scrutineers." These were people who did not have HPR's but who were experienced judges of trials for other breeds.
Many HPR judges really hated having scrutineers attend their trials but, to some extent, it did improve things for a while. The scrutineers did not know the "important faces" and did not care who was or was not "in with the in crowd." I was in favour of that happening and think it was a pity it had not been done before I gave up on trialing HPR's due to what I felt was sometimes "iffy" judging.
I saw hard mouthed dogs win trials and I saw out of control dogs win or be placed in trials.....even in the Championships. It's not nice if you are one of the less favoured competitors.
