Next time I see one I shall ask if it is a cockringer, when they tell me it is a sprocker I shall enter into a long debate on whether it is a springer x cocker or a cocker x springer and the effect this has on the true name!!!!

All we can hope for is that politics are out to one side for a couple of days, the championship is the spectacle it deserves to be and the best dog wins.
Then if that isn't enough this whole matter is resolved as quickly as possible before our sport is completely ruined!
Some wish list!!!!!

Re: sprocker spaniel
With all the internet/news publicity on this subject over the past 24 hours I am curious what others thoughts are on where this is going?
Is this just a bunch of people making a fuss and nothing will come of it OR are we looking at a major upset with your KC (possibly the AKC) and the trialing world? As someone that is new to cockers and trialing I am concerned about where this is going.

Re: sprocker spaniel
So much has been written about all this but in essence it boils down to one thing: have people been sold pure bred cocker spaniels or have they been sold a X breed? I don't mind sprockers or whatever you like to call them (just the fashion at the moment with spring adores/cocker poo etc but, the buyer knows that this is what they are and for some unfathamable reason this is what they want. But, when someone goes to buy a wcs or wants to use a male wcs on their wcs bitch they need to know that this is what they are getting. It's not complicated and proof is needed one way or the other. If I was a breeder I would want everyone to know that my dogs were what I (and the piece of paper called a pedigree) said they were.
