Common sense. Thank you. But he is right about the view, it's tremendous.

We all read it! One man's meat is another man's poison isn't it? If the bitch is a sound shooting companion then why not breed from her? Some of the pups are likely to throw back to the Grandparents anyway so may be competition material, the rest will likely make dogs suitable for the rest of us to work.

If Paul had said the bitch is a whining bird cruncher then this thread may not have developed in the way that it has?
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

I can't speak for the breeder or his litter, but have to agree with SP & one or two others that have posted. On the face of it this sounds like top-notch breeding, which is, presumably, going to attract a top-notch price. Paul Spaniel says that he had the dam for a while & it wouldn't hunt & I have to take that at face value. However, I once bought a pup off a friend of mine which I liked very much. 18 months later he offered me her litter sister, that had originally been sold to a semi-pro trainer who had all the facilities but had asked him if he would take her back because she wouldn't hunt. I snapped her up & she hunted like a demon for me from the first time that I cast her off to the day that she died. I did nothing special with her, she just hunted as soon as I clicked her off so I've no idea why she wouldn't hunt for the other guy, who was an experienced trainer by all accounts. She had no vices & the softest mouth that I've ever had in a dog. I guess the moral is that just because a dog doesn't fit with one person, then it doesn't necessarily mean that she can't shine with another.
